“God is everywhere.”
“Nothing is impossible with God.”
“Just believe in Christ and you will be saved.”
These are just some of the beliefs that Bible-enthusiasts the world over accept as indelible truths. However, what if the Bible itself actually says otherwise?
Such is the concept of Bro. Eli Soriano’s all-new religious podcast, “The Unheard Truth From The Bible”.
The podcast, which premiered last August 23, has delved into different topics like the “Killer Sheep” and the “Faith Of God” that both intrigued and piqued the interest of biblical truth seekers. According to the podcast’s Spreaker data, the podcast saw 300,000 episode downloads by the time the second episode aired.
A Growing Number
About 68 million Americans listen to podcasts each week. And Bro. Eli saw this as a great opportunity to tap its extensive potential in propagating God’s words.
Podcasts allow users to multitask, adding to the media format’s rising popularity. In the US, about 49% of the platform’s heavy users listen at home, while 22% tune in while driving.
As for religious podcasts, popular podcast hosting site Blubrry reported that listeners of religious podcasts have grown at an annual rate of 85% in the past decade.
As more and more people embark on a spiritual search, so is the need to push more avenues like podcasting where people can quench their thirst for biblical truths.
But how is this podcast different from the others?
Blazing A New Trail From Ordinary Christian Podcasts
“I heard somebody say, ‘The covenant that Christ brought to earth is greater than the first covenant. So, the greater covenant is, the greater is the offering. In the Old Testament, the offering was 10%, but if Jesus Christ brought a better covenant with better promises then that means you have to spend more.’ These are the lies of the pastors in our time,” Bro. Eli warned during the podcast’s premiere episode.
Bro. Eli invites the meticulous attention of the people to check what preachers now say with what is written in the Bible as there are those who misinterpret God’s words and use the Scriptures for their material gain.
One example is the way pastors misuse Psalms 68:18 in asking for donations even from non-members of their churches.
Believing that God’s words — in their pristine context — will never fail truth seekers, Bro. Eli always goes back to the original manuscripts to ensure accuracy of meaning.
In the case of Psalms 68:18, pastors use the phrase “thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also” from the verse in collecting donations. They say that God accepts gifts even from people whom others consider to be unjust because God looks at the heart.
Bro. Eli has long been known to be a straight-from-the-scripture preacher.
The Unheard Truth Podcast intends to bring the undefiled teachings of Christ that modern-day pastors have failed to preach, bringing a thought-provoking, eye-opening experience to biblical truth-seekers in the podcast world.
