The Old Path program will start airing in the Dominican Republic beginning this February, making it the latest in the growing number of Spanish-speaking nations receiving the airing of the religious program.
Bro. Eliseo F. Soriano, Presiding Minister to Members Church of God International (MCGI), is the main host of The Old Path since its inception in the early 1980s. Back then, the program, with a Filipino name Ang Dating Daan, was only a monolingual program in the vernacular Filipino.
Now, The Old Path broadcasts are available in multiple languages beside Filipino and English. The program now has Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese language versions.
Through Telemedios Canal 25, El Camino Antiguo, the Spanish version of the program will be available to televiewers from that part of the Caribbean.
An agreement for The Old Path’s airing via Telemedios was signed between the latter’s station manager Cesar Hernandez and MCGI represented by its Katulong ng Pangangasiwa (Helpers of the Ministry), Bro. Josel Mallari.
The show will have a daily programming and will start airing on February 17 this year. Canal 25 will air El Camino Antiguo twice a day, from 6:00-7:00 a.m. and 10:30–11:30 p.m.
The Old Path is a Bible-based program geared to propagate the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Its popular segment is Ask Soriano, featuring a question-and-answer format, where Bro. Eli answers using the Bible live questions coming from his audience.
Just a few weeks ago, MCGI opened new El Camino Antiguo programs on El Salvador and Guatemala. Both countries have a predominantly Spanish-speaking population.
The El Salvador broadcast of Bro. Soriano’s program is available at Canal 61 and Guatemalan broadcast is available via Guatevision.
