January of every year is now officially a National Bible Month. Incidentally, Bro. Eli Soriano through the Controversy Extraordinary blog published articles in line with the celebration.
In January this year, the International Televangelist published four articles about the value of getting enduring wisdom from the Bible and another one on why the Bible is the most educational book any person can read.
All-Time Favorite, Educational Book
In “The Best Educational Book of All Time,” published on January 29, Bro. Eli provides insights why the Bible as an educator is unparalleled.
“I am convinced that the teachings of the Bible have educated me more than any other books I have previously read,” wrote the radio-television host.
The article was originally published via his earlier blog site, esoriano.wordpress.com, following his win from Mashable’s Open Web Awards in 2009 as the “Most Educational Blogger to Follow.”
He shared what inspires him in writing articles for his blog site, which is “my intense desire to share the truth that I have learned from the ‘most’ educational book to follow – my Bible.”
On January 23, Bro. Eli published “Conscience and the Bible,” which was preceded by “Why the Best Education is Available in the Bible” on January 8, and “A Little of Mathematics and Logic” published on January 1.
Secrets to Lasting Friendship
As a form of response to a reader’s question on how to maintain and build stronger a friendship, Bro. Eli wrote the article, “How to Maintain Friendship According to the Bible,” published on January 15.
Some takeaways from the article include ways to know if you have a true friend: “A true friend’s criticism may hurt, but it is a sign of a true friend.”
Bro. Eli quoted the Book of Proverbs 27:6, which reads, “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”
For friendships to last, the article stressed the importance of maintaining a symbiotic relation of virtue and trust.
As Bro. Eli beautifully stated, “Enduring friendship is attainable in the Church of God. Jesus and His disciples are the best of friends anybody can have.”
Month-long Celebration of the Bible’s Importance
On January 5, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation 124, declaring January of every year as National Bible Month, which will culminate in the last week as National Bible Week.
The declaration recognizes the nature of the Filipino people and the strong influence of religion in human society.
In 2007, Bro. Eli joined the blogosphere through his award-winning esoriano.wordpress.com blog site. This blog site emerged among the Top 50 Websites to Follow during Mashable.com’s Open Web Awards in 2009.
Bro. Eli now writes for his blog site, ControversyExtraordinary.com, which debuted in 2014.
