In all four Sundays of May this year, ControversyExtraordinary.com featured riveting blog articles that expose the hypocrisies and whitewashing of Catholic sex scandals, a Catholic Pope’s teachings about the existence of limbo, the so many contradictory teachings of the Iglesia ni Cristo, and the marks and qualities of a true preacher of God.
May 6: The Book of Truth
The prolific blogging preacher opened his article by stating that “The Bible does not lie because it is a record of the sacred word of God who cannot lie.”
Bro. Eli then discussed how secrets even kept with utmost diligence by men will never be forever hidden, including the “many camouflaged institutions of satan” in the religious sector.
“They are cruel, they care not for the souls of men. They are the executors of the lust of their father!,” wrote Bro. Eli before citing the Catholic abuses in Ireland as an example to illustrate his point.
In setting the Bible apart from other books, Bro. Eli said that even the inspired writers of the Holy Scriptures did not attempt to cover-up the immoral acts of biblical personages.
“The fact that they were written with frankness and clarity and condemned by the Bible itself, proves the truthfulness of the Book…,” said the Filipino televangelist.
May 13: I Am Not Competing With Anybody
In this article, Bro. Eli recalled his experiences when he started preaching the Gospel, which was very from his pre-ministerial life.
“I was hated, humiliated, charged maliciously, beaten physically and maligned by almost all sectors of human society, save those who believe in God and in the Gospel that I preach,” he wrote.
But in spite of the extraordinary treatment from his detractors and enemies of the Gospel, Bro. Eli stressed that he delights in recalling the words of the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 5:11.
He also wrote what the Bible regards as unfaithful preachers, such as those who “preach Christ out of envy and contention.” He said the intent and will to preach must come from God.
“To preach the Godly way is to preach and speak in a manner that God wants a preacher to speak,” Bro. Eli wrote then citing I Thessalonians 2:3-6 and Galatians 4;16.
A faithful preacher will preach the truth and nothing but the truth, according to the radio-television host. He then added that frankness and boldness are qualities in a faithful preacher that many people do not appreciate.
May 20: Of Boring Sermons and Religious Rights
Who has the sole ownership to claim that their church is the True Church? Bro. Eli in this article responded to a certain letter-sender who wanted to limit the rights to claim the true church to the Catholic Faith.
“I am very sorry to hear from you that I have no right to say that the Church of God is the true Church. For your information, Madame, it is not only the right of a person to think or to believe he is right, but it is of the highest level of sanity,” Bro. Eli indicated.
Being entitled to one’s own opinion is a basic human right, but Bro. Eli reminded the letter-sender not to forget his right to free expression of opinion.
In the religious sector, Bro Eli discussed that it is the Roman Catholic Church that spearheaded the notion and claim that it is the only one true church in the world. It even claimed that outside the Catholic faith, there is no salvation.
Other religious groups, according to Bro Eli followed suit, including the Iglesia ni Cristo, Growing in Grace religious sect of Jose Luis Miranda, and more.
However, the official name “The Holy Catholic Apostolic Roman Church” was not written in the Bible, according to Bro. Eli, then citing a Vatican Council decision about this. “So it is understandable that it is not the ‘true’ church in the Bible,” concluded Bro. Eli.
Bro. Eli further opposed the claims of the letter-sender, such as that of him trying hard in preaching and only fooling people.
“For this I have to say that it is the opposite. I am not trying hard because it is very easy for me to prove that your practices in your church like, kneeling before idols, praying before idol of stones and woods are prohibited by God,” wrote Bro. Eli.
Bro. Eli further stated: “You said that “I am fooling people”, but I am not the one fooling people because I am reading to them the words of God in the Bible, but your priests do not — as often as I do!
The blogging preacher refuted other unfounded claims by his letter-sender.
As a parting word, Bro. Eli said: “It is the Spirit that reveals the truth of the word of God in the Bible in the heart of a man, not the explanation of anybody — including Brother Eli.”
May 27: Will God Contradict Himself?
According to Bro. Eli,“God’s word and wisdom written in the Bible are straightforward declaration of the absolute truth. There is no contradiction whatsoever.”
But there is a condition as to who will experience this, said Bro. Eli. “God guarantees it; but it will appear to be clear and concise only to an understanding mind of someone favored by the grace of the Holy Spirit.”
However, there are those who try desperately to destroy the credibility of God’s words and make people doubt that God’s words will not contradict each other.
“The phrases “For with God nothing shall be impossible” and “…with God all things are possible” if taken within the context of the conversation, reveal that the Lord Jesus Christ and the angel Gabriel are speaking of things that, for man, are impossible to be done,” explained Bro. Eli.
Further he added: “What they are saying is what is not attainable by man can be done by God. Whereas, on the other side, those things that are impossible with God are things which He will not (and cannot) do to Himself or on His person…He cannot lie; it is impossible for him to lie; He cannot change Himself ; He cannot deny Himself, etc.”
Award-winning international televangelist, and host, as well as resource person of the Ang Dating Daan program, Bro. Eli now writes his blog entry under the nom de plume of Mr. Controversy.
