“Let me read to you the Bible.”
What would normally follow these words when listening to Bible-reading podcasts would be the first words of Genesis 1:1: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Launched on December 12, 2020, Bro. Eli Soriano’s brand-new podcast called AudiBible features a reading of the Holy Scriptures that begins with the Book of John.
While Genesis may literally mean “beginning”, Bro. Eli shows in one of his Bible Expositions online that it wasn’t the very beginning because it only tells about the creation of the universe.
John 1:1, however, points to a beginning that pre-dates the existence of everything that humanity is aware of. It begins with the Word of God — the Lord Jesus Christ.
The AudiBible Podcast
Following the commendable reception of The Unheard Truth from the Bible podcast which now has over three million downloads on Spreaker, the audio program is likewise steered towards sharing the words of the Almighty to the world.
The AudiBible is aimed at promoting a more accurate and engaging perusal of the Holy Scriptures with regular releases.
Having been reading the Bible since he was 17, Bro. Eli’s comprehensive and rigorous research ensures that the text he reads conforms to the earliest copies of the Holy Scriptures, particularly those written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. He hopes to provide listeners an undefiled reading of the Bible, free from mistranslations.
An Early Feat
On December 14, just two days after its release, the AudiBible podcast topped the Book and Arts Categories in the Philippines, Macau, Palau, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. This is according to data from Chartable, a podcast analytics company based in New York.
Apart from this, Chartable also reported that AudiBible was among the top 10 Podcasts in the United States under the Books Category.
Bro. Eli on the Bible
The Members Church of God International (MCGI) Overall Servant has always had high regard for the words of God in the Holy Scriptures. The doctrines of Christ practiced by MCGI are all based on the teachings of God in the Holy Book.
In evangelization efforts led by Bro. Eli, whether topical religious discussions or question-and-answer forums, the Bible is always used as a primary reference.
In one of his blog posts, he says of the Holy Scriptures, “As a book, the Bible can be trusted as being in the highest degree of literary work.”
Bro. Eli remarked that the words used in the Bible came directly from God and, therefore, must be acknowledged and believed, and must be treated with the highest respect.
“I have always believed that the Bible doesn’t need any interpretation or any self-serving conclusions. The Bible is enough in itself and is not meant to be perverted in any way, shape, or form for personal gains,” said Bro. Eli in the AudiBible teaser video published in October.
