Melbourne, Australia (13 April 2016) — “Magnetic. Fantastic.”
This was how an Australian televiewer of The Old Path TV’s “Truth in Focus” expressed his fondness of Bro. Eli Soriano, as well as his wish to meet the phenomenal televangelist in person.
David Sammut was interviewed by the MCGI Chapter in Melbourne after the Australian called the locale chapter there inquiring about the Members Church of God International (MCGI), which Bro. Eli Soriano leads.
When asked about his reaction upon watching Bro. Eli on TV, Sammut told an MCGI Worker in Melbourne how the televangelist made him smile. “He was refreshing, joyful, informative and magnetic. Actually, I would really love to meet him!”
“And from all the shows I run at the moment – Christian shows, I felt like [to me] he was speaking to the heart. The truth of the heart,” Sammut said, adding, “And I wasn’t left with confusion about what he was sharing – which is the feeling I felt with a lot of Christian shows.
While Christianity remains a dominant belief in Australia, there is also a rise in non-religious populace. Melbourne, like the rest of Australia, is partially irreligious and secularized. The number of people identifying themselves as Christians are declining while those who did not state their religion or declared no religion are rising, according to the Demographics of Melbourne and The Sydney Morning Herald.
To date, The Old Path is being aired in different cities in Australia other than Melbourne, namely: Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth. The Old Path TV, the English format of the Ang Dating Daan program, hosted by Bro. Eli Soriano, airs via C31, a channel serving Melbourne and Geelong, Victoria.
MCGI locale chapters dart major cities in Australia – Canberra, Sydney, and Melbourne. MCGI also spans in Cairns, Wodonga, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Rockhampton, New South Wales, Kingaroy, Townsville, Mackay, Muswellbrook and Darwin. The congregants there conduct regular charitable works such as mass blood donation, clean-up drive, aged care volunteerism, and more.
As a parting message to Bro. Eli, Sammut said: “I love you Bro. Eli, I think you’re fantastic! You bring a smile to my face at the moment, which is rare for me, so thank you. I appreciate you and I hope I can help you and the congregation out somehow very soon.”
Sammut was given his requested copy of the Holy Bible to use for studying biblical truths.
