Eli’s motivation to do ministerial works came from his love of the written words of God in the Bible. Nicolas Perez eventually saw the exceptional traits that Eli possessed and made him an under study for considerably privileged tasks.

One of the tasks that Perez bestowed upon Eli was to be his personal writer of outlines of themes for preaching. Eli amazed Perez with his excellent skill in transcribing – never missing the important details.

The creativity of Eli in setting his own version of shorthand writing later proved him to be a genuine writer of God. He was later entrusted by the Old Man to draft the outlines of themes to be delivered before the Congregation.
