Eli Soriano was born of a middle-class, religious family in Manila, two years after the country and the whole of Asia was slowly recovering from the destruction brought by World War II that had ended in 1945. His birth coincides with the year of the discovery of the most celebrated ancient artifacts to the Christian faith, the Dead Sea Scrolls.

As early as a child, he was showing that he wasn’t ordinary. He became substitute-teacher to the Principal while in high school. One day in his teenage years, he fell in love with the Word of God in the Bible that changed his whole life. He would later become someone he never imagined nor aspired for – a Preacher of God.
