Mounting free medical-dental-legal mission for the indigents, especially in poor communities, is part of the regular public service partnership between Bro. Eli Soriano through Ang Dating Daan and media network UNTV.
On February 23 the tandem of Ang Dating Daan and UNTV visited Barangay Silangan in Quezon City to conduct its health-and-legal mission, benefitting more than 1,400 residents of the area.
The whole day affair gave residents of Brgy. Silangan ample chance to avail free medical, dental and legal services. Data of the charitable mission showed a total 787 individuals benefited from the offered free services, including dental and legal consultation services.
Ang Dating Daan and UNTV also reported that up to 690 participants received free medicines.
The medical services included general check-up for adults and children, optical and physical therapy examinations, and random blood sugar and electrocardiogram (ECG) tests.
In 2009, the area was affected by the devastating Typhoon Ondoy. The charitable acts conducted by ADD and UNTV have benefactors lauding to be significant in uplifting the wellbeing of the residents.
“For our every request [for the groups to hold a medical mission here], they always say yes. And they hold not only medical missions but also optical and paralegal,” remarked Brgy. Captain Crisell Beltran in the vernacular. “Recently, they also conducted feeding programs in our place.”
“We are thankful to UNTV and Kuya Daniel for reaching out to us, and of course to Bro. Eli Soriano,” Brgy. Capt Beltran added.
Ritchie Basuga, a free tooth extraction service recipient, thanked the organizers for coming up with such helpful public service. “I am grateful. Without this [mission], my tooth would have not been extracted,” he briefly said in the vernacular.
Another beneficiary, Juana Almanza expressed how the medical mission was timely for her household. She recounted how the medical mission had helped her grandchild.
“[My grandchild] has difficulty in coughing. The phlegm is already very sticky. We attended [this medical mission] because we do not have the capacity to buy her medicines,” remarked Almanza.
Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International (BMPI)-UNTV, dubbed “The Public Service Channel”, is under the helm of its CEO and Chairman, Kuya Daniel Razon.
