Manila, Philippines, (01/12/2010) – Known to be daring in the religious arena, he has recently been recognized in the field of education through his truth blog. This he can attest through the award he recently received. Bro. Eliseo Soriano ’s official blog had been awarded “The Most Educational to Follow” by an international web awards service.
The blog, http://www.esoriano.wordpress.com, took its place as the very best of its category by Mashable Open Web Awards (OWA) of 2009 on December 16, 2009.
Bro. Soriano is the popular host of the religious TV program, Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path).
Mashable OWA recognized Soriano’s credibility in teaching academics while maintaining it within the ground of his commodity which is religion. In his blog, the topics vary as wide as biology to history, but Soriano makes sure that topics are relevant within the religious discourse that is discussed for a certain post.
A sample entry of Soriano’s award-winning blog is his August 5-7, 2007 serial posts titled “A Scientific Way of Discovering the Biblical Truth“. True to its title, he discussed the topic that is about the scientific approach of studying the truth by given examples that are supported both by scientific and biblical facts.
Soriano’s signature style of preaching that is apparent in TV and radio broadcast is that his every statement is supported with biblical verses. Such style reflects as well in his blog posts. Solely unique to him as well is that ability to discuss subjects such as Science, Logic, Psychology, History, and Philosophy agreeing with biblical principles and facts.
The preacher’s signature style for preaching and his innovative approach of using every available technology in propagation is his ticket to such prestigious recognition even as this is the least of his intention when he opened his blog. As a preacher on a worldwide mission, the blog’s purpose is to extend an arm to his propagation.
Some of Soriano’s posts are designed to answer specific issues, doubts, and arguments of random readers of the blogs regarding religion and spirituality. His intriguing topics include: The crusade against false preachers, Magistrates employing deceit and fraud, An epoch of fraud and deceit, Sam Jordison’s bizarre sadism, God is not everywhere, Was Peter really the rock? Other radical posts include: Adam died long after his flesh did, Can a homosexual make it to heaven?, The concerns of a sexually addicted reader, and Masturbation: to sin or not to sin? The blog is designed to accommodate and to reach out to those in the blogosphere and the Internet-users.
Mashable’s CEO Pete Cashmore himself awarded Soriano’s blog with a badge that bears the congratulatory remark of Cashmore. The badge says “2009 Winner Open Web Awards presented by Mashable. Having won the ‘Most Educational to Follow’ category in the Open Web Awards 2009, esoriano.wordpress.com takes its place among the top 50 websites and services of the year. Web users cast thousands of votes for the site, selecting it as the very best of its field”.
Soriano acknowledged modestly such remarks from Cashmore right after the badge was displayed in his December 16, 2009 blog entry. He claimed “I am not fit to be called an educator because I am a high school dropout.” In the entirety of his post where he promoted the credibility of the Bible as the source of his knowledge, he cited in the end “I reiterate and emphasize that the Bible is the most educational book to follow.”
Soriano’s blog was launched in 2007, reaching its 3rd year to date, while his equally popular program Ang Dating Daan just celebrated its 29th year in 2009 and currently airing in UNTV and in various international channels, such as TOP channel and TV Verdade.
